February is Black History Month, a time to celebrate the achievements, culture, and contributions of many great and important African Americans throughout history. We shine a light on icons and trailblazers – from inventors and artists to leaders and activists. Throughout the month, we encourage our community to explore the many figures who have helped shape our world; read their stories, learn important lessons, and reflect on how we can make the world a more inclusive and just place for everyone. Join us in celebrating Black History Month and the incredible legacy that continues to inspire us all!
Happy Lunar New Year!

Lunar New Year begins Wednesday, January 29th. To help us celebrate and honor the holiday, the Sacramento State Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) Red Lotus Lion Dance Team will perform during morning announcements Friday. The VSA performs lion dancing to bring people good luck, prosperity, and to bring joy to people with our acrobatic lions.
Join us Friday at 8am for the amazing performance!

This Just In: Dollar Free Dress Day!
Monday January 27th – bring in a donation to support this worthy cause and enjoy a FREE DRESS DAY!
The news coming out of Southern California has been nothing less than devastating. In an effort to support those communities, East Sac schools are joining forces to raise funds to donate to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation as well as The California Community Foundation.
From January 21st through January 31st we will be participating in Coins for Community. Jars will be placed in the office and library to collect loose change. All funds raised will go directly to the above mentioned charities.
We’d like to thank David Lubin Elementary School for reaching out and organizing this incredible effort.
