Calling all Phoebe Hearst parent/student bike enthusiasts!
School is back in session and it’s prime time for Bike Bus season.
What is Bike Bus you ask? Great question! Imagine a school of fish swimming down M St. in the morning starting at 35th & M St. at 7:30am and gaining mass as more fish waiting on the street corners tag in and join the group as it makes its way down M Street. Only instead of fish, it’s parents and kids riding bikes together to Phoebe Hearst Elementary.
All bike riders enter together and park their bikes at the racks behind the cafeteria. A group of parent volunteers including Christian Kurpiewski, Megan Fidell, and Ari Zandman-Zeman, ride alongside the group to supervise and bike ahead to block off traffic at busier streets along the route.

Our Kick Off event is going to be September 8th at Bike Dog Brewery in East Sac from 2-5pm. We will have bike mechanics from Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates (an awesome local non-profit) there to wrench on any bike that needs a little love. The following week will be our first official Bike Bus week so knock off the dust and come roll with us!
