Jogathon, Bike Bus, Home Run Reader, School Site Council, Movie Night, and more!

Jogathon
I want to say once again what a great job our students did raising money for the Jogathon.
$110,000 net. Congrats to all the winners. The winners are our students who will benefit. Art, music, and
so much more is funded because of the support and care for our school. Thank you!

Bike Bus is NEXT WEEK October 3rd thru October 7th.
Our October Bike Bus week will end with a bang. Join your friends and special guest Principal Martin for
our Friday ride! We will have sweet treats for all riders upon arrival at school and will be raffling off fun
prizes for those who participate, including sweet bike gear and Jamba gift cards! Make sure to sign in
with Bike Bus volunteer Christian upon arriving. Find more info here.

Flag Football
We have a coach! Coach James Ortiz (prefers Coach O) is a safety officer at McClatchy High School and is very excited to lead our football team. I will serve as his assistant coach as well. Thank you to Mr. Meyer for holding tryouts and putting the team together. Here is the schedule for the season which starts next Wednesday at Will C. Woods school against Caleb Greenwood at 4pm.

Movie Night
A week from tomorrow is the return of Movie Night. This is the make up from last month that we had to cancel due to the heat. What move is it? You’ll have to come and find out!

LCFF Forms
Families play a critical role in ensuring our Sac City Unified schools are properly funded. Although all
students receive free meals regardless of income, the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) application
still determines how much funding our district receives. You can help our school community by
completing the LCFF application by October 31, 2022. It only takes a few minutes for you to help us
protect critical funding for our students! Even if you know that you won’t qualify it is still imperative that
you complete the application.

  • Fill out one application per household, whether online or paper, by October 31, 2022. The online application is also available in district-supported languages.
  • Families who wish to complete the paper application will receive it in their student’s Back to School packet. Please return the completed application to their school’s front office.
  • If you have any questions, please email [email protected] or visit scusd.edu/lcffapp
