Congratulations Yuta – our school champion!
You have heard the buzz and we are excited to announce that the Phoebe Hearst Spelling Bee is back! This virtual event will take place over the course of the next few weeks as students work to become the 2020-21 PhoeBee champion. Throughout the week of December 7, students will have a chance to review lists and study words before our first round of grade-level competitions, which will be conducted via Zoom, the week of December 14. The top spellers from each grade will advance to our school-wide event held the week of January 4 when we return from Winter Break. We will work off of the Scripps National Spelling Bee lists.

Grade-level competitions:
- First grade spellers will compete Tuesday at 2:00 pm
- Second grade spellers will compete Wednesday at 1:30 pm
- Third grade spellers will compete Thursday at 2:00 pm
- Fourth grade spellers will compete Tuesday at 3:00 pm
- Fifth grade spellers will compete Monday at 1:30 pm
- Sixth grade spellers will compete Monday at 3:00 pm
