Principal’s bulletin about THE EVENT

Dear Phoebe Families,
As the ‘new person,’ each school function this year has been a combination of uncertainty, excitement, and surprise for me.  As I’ve stated in the past, I’m always impressed with how this school community comes together to support the education of our students.  Our next function, The Event, is quickly upon us and is sure to be a highlight of this year.  Please come support technology in the classroom by purchasing your tickets and plan on treating yourself to an evening of delicious local food and drinks, some tantalizing auction items, and plenty of room to dance (hosted by our very own DJ Mike Moore!).
The proceeds of The Event go towards the purchasing of iPads and MacBooks for our students.  We are committed to producing technologically-fluent young people, ready with the necessary skills to research, explore, and create independently with computers.  For that reason, we are grateful for the participation of our stakeholders in this very important fundraiser.  For any family member that wants to support but cannot attend, there is an option to simply donate through the online portal.  Also, your ticket purchase can be counted towards your parent hours, and there are a variety of opportunities to help out before, during, and after as well.

The EVENT – Save the Date! March 20, 2015

The Event is moving downtown! Join us Friday, March 20, 2015 for our third Event fundraiser.  The venue has changed as well as the format.  Stay tuned for details in January!

One thing that hasn’t changed is our fabulous silent and live auctions.  So clean out your closets and drawers.  Make room for incoming holiday goods.  Please bring in your NEW or UN-USED items for the Silent Auction.   Our team will create fabulous and desirable silent auction baskets with good received.

We are looking for gift cards too – restaurants, spas, luxury resorts – anything you may have hanging around but think you won’t use – we will.  We also use baskets, tins or other containers of any size to assemble Silent Auction baskets.

Gift cards or other donations may be dropped off in the office attention Sarah Z’berg, PTO Fundraising.  Larger items may be placed in the Silent Auction donation box in the office.

Looking to complete your 40 parent volunteer hours in one day?!  Work the whole Event – setup, during the Event, and cleanup – and cross your volunteer hours OFF.  Contact Sarah Z’Berg at phoebe.fundraising@gmail.com for more information.

 

Raise Money for PHE while you SHOP!

We are fortunate to have a number of nearly effortless fundraising options that directly benefit our school just by shopping and running normal errands! Last year, the PTO raised over $5000 from simple, convenient and easy fundraisers through SaveMart, Raley’s, Target and BoxTops for Education. This year we have also partnered with Shoparoo, a super simple app for your phone, to allow us to raise even more! Check it out!

How to make a TICKET RESERVATION
1) Email phoebe.fundraising@gmail.com to reserve your spot
2) Print and fill out form
3) Drop off form and payment at the front office
