March 2018 Newsletter

Dear Phoebe Parents,

The tragedy last month in Florida was yet another grim reminder that the job to keep our students safe is never done.  Thank you for the insightful questions and concerns about school safety I’ve received in the last week; we will continue to work to make this campus as safe as possible with awareness, vigilance, and drill practice. Included in this month’s newsletter is a letter from the superintendent regarding the March 14th National School Walkout, and once I know more about district-wide efforts, I will communicate with you immediately.  In the mean time, please know that we are doing everything we can to keep your little Dragons safe while they are with us.

We have some very important events coming up this month!  On March 13th, Special Agent Scott Schofield from the FBI will be giving us a special presentation on cybersafety for parents.  Please join us at 6:30pm in the Phoebe cafeteria and please remember that due to the serious nature of the conversation, the presentation is for parents only.  We are extremely lucky to have SA Schofield present, and I am looking forward to learning more as both a parent and an educator.  Two nights later at Sutter Middle School, our little performers will be on display for Phoebe’s Got Talent.  Mr. Henrikson and his team have put together a night of entertainment – 25 student acts that will not disappoint!  We look forward to seeing you for these two upcoming Phoebe community events.

Here’s to a great month of March!
