CAASPP Testing

Dear Dragons,

As you may know, next week begins our annual state testing for English and Mathematics. This examination process, referred to as CAASPP testing (California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress), will span four days for each student in grades three through six. Over the four days, students will see a variety of question types – multiple choice, short answer, and essay – in each subject area as they navigate the tests in an online environment. Teachers and classes have been hard at work all year preparing for the new content and testing process, and the fruit of their hard work will undoubtedly be the great results we receive.

As with anything, I expect everyone to do their very best, which is a sentiment that I try to convey to our kids constantly – if you put your name to something, it should be your best effort. With that, I’m very excited to see how we represent ourselves, our teachers, and our school! Districts, schools, and families will receive individual scores in the late summer.

Our 2015 testing schedule is as follows:

5th Grade: 4/13-4/16
6th Grade: 4/20, 4/21, 4/23, 4/24
4th Grade: 4/27, 4/28, 4/30, 5/1
3rd Grade: 5/4, 5/5, 5/7, 5/8

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you in advance for supporting your student and the school by ensuring that he/she arrives on time to school with a full night’s rest on testing days. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Sincerely,

Nate McGill
